Solar Home Units

Off grid power system and Stand-alone photovoltaic systems operate independently of the electric utility grid and are most often used in remote rural areas where the electric grid does bot reach or where the connection fees for access to the grid are higher than the cost of an alternative energy system. The DC power generated by these systems is stored in batteries and converted to AC power for household or commercial use.

This type of PV system may exclusively use solar panels or use them in conjunction with other electricity supplying devices, such as diesel generators and wind turbines.

The main benefits of Off grid systems are:

  • Affordable – Reliable – Flexible.
A grid-connected photovoltaic power system is an electricity generating solar PV system that is connected to the utility grid. A grid-connected PV system consist of solar panels, one or several inverters, a power conditioning unit and grid connection equipment.

The main benefits of On grid system are:

  • Reduce the power bill as possible to sell surplus electricity produced to the local electricity supplier.
  • Easy to install as they do not require a battery system.
